Fred Heinrich is the President and General Counsel of Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino, where he oversees the property’s operations and drives overall strategy. Prior to his role as President, Heinrich served as General Counsel and Head of Compliance, where he was instrumental in the legislative advancement of the racing and gaming industries in New Mexico, while maintaining oversight over all aspects of regulatory compliance at the property.

Mr. Heinrich has over 35 years of professional experience across various aspects of business development, legal and risk management, and strategy. At the invitation of New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Heinrich serves on the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Border Authority, which is tasked with expansion along the state’s southern border with Mexico.

Mr. Heinrich holds both a bachelor’s degree in Finance (Cum Laude) and a Juris Doctor degree (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is the proud son of immigrants and has lived the American dream.
